Our View
The one we've all been waiting for!
We are continuously asked how to connect up a PC, laptop, xbox etc with a standard 15pin D-sub VGA monitor output, to a new HD enabled screen, well here it is.
Currently this kind of conversion can only be found incorperated within a larger matrix switch costing hundreds of pounds. Now for under £38 you can do the same.
So easy to set up. Simply plug a male to male monitor cable to the switch, connect a 3.5mm to 2 RCA cable from the standard audio line out on your computer (normally the green connection) to the switch, an HDMI cable from the unit to the TV, power it all up and job done.
We tested using a 37" lcd screen, a 3 metre 3.5 to 2RCA cable, a standard 2 metre monitor cable (your existing cable should be ideal) and a 15 metre HDMI cable. Picture was absolutely fantastic and audio went as loud as the TV speakers (or our ears) could handle, without distortion.
We also tried a 25 metre monitor cable with the above 15 metre HDMI cable but lost the signal so we shall continue testing to find the converters limitations
Update: Now tested with a 5 metre VGA Cable and a 10 metre HDMI Cable with perfect results but we still recommend using the shortest VGA cable possible.
Remember that this converter may be clever, but it can't do everything. If your TV can only accept 720p, don't expect the box to convert a 1920 x 1440 resolution from your graphics card!
We tested using standard PC output settings of 60 Hertz, 32 bit colour at 96 DPI using a 37" LCD TV and a 22" Hanns.G widescreen monitor, with the following results:

The TV / Monitor simply displayed 'Out of Range' when no picture
In other words, keep the resolution output from the connected device set within the limitations of your HDMI display
Conclusion: Brilliant
