HDMI Splitter – Connect Multiple Displays using a Single HD Source
The HDMI Interface and HDMI Cables are used for connecting High Definition (HD) Sources with HD Displays. An HDMI Splitter can be used to connect one source (Sky Receiver, Satellite, BlueRay Player) to multiple devices e.g. to have Sky showing on multiple screens simultaneously.
HDMI Cables can carry both audio and video signals. An additional advantage is a reduction in cluttered cables.
Coversely, to connect multiple devices to a single HDMI socket on a TV, you will require an HDMI Switch
HDMI Splitters will not only allow you to connect multiple devices to your source, they will also reduce clutter by removing the need for numerous cables. With a single HDMI cable to each device from your HDMI Splitter, you can carry audio and video between your devices.
It is important to consider the maximum distance over which HDMI signals can be carried. HDMI cables are limited, therefore you may require a special HDMI cable or extender to further the distances between your source and display. In some cases, it is possible to use Remote Control Extenders to control the source unit from a different location or room.
