Q. Will this allow me to attach a USB device to a PC with a Serial port
A. NO, your PC MUST have USB, this item allows you to connect a serial device to a PC that has a free USB port.

Q. My serial device is not detected
A. Try dropping the COM port number to a lower number i.e. 2. some software supplied with external serial devices cannot use higher numbers. try this:
( only suitable for WINDOWS ME , 2000 , XP ) :
1. From " Device Manager " , select " View devices by type " , then " Ports ( COM & LPT ) "
2. Select the USB serial port and click " Properties ".
3. Select the " Port Settings " tab , then click " Advanced ". Choose the required COM port number from the list and click " OK ".

Q. When loading the driver I'm alerted that the driver is not compatible with WIN XP , why 
A. A warning will occur during the USB TO RS232 Cable installing , please ignore this warning and continue with installing.

Q. Can USB TO RS232 Cable run under the dos & win95
A. No , it cannot because dos & win95 is not compatible with the USB standard.
